• Take the pain away from monitoring.
• Designed for the utmost simplicity.
• Unbelievably easy to install.
Gridspy has developed its technology to take the pain away from monitoring. Each component was designed for the utmost simplicity without compromising reliability or access to accurate data. Our units are unbelievably easy to install and can take 4 times less to install than our competitors! All you need are the install instructions and a small amount of time from your electrician.
We can sense from a wide range of possible inputs for electricity, pulse counters and a very wide range of simple sensors.
Every part of our system has been designed with simple installation, use and access in mind.
People who are serious about software should make their own hardware
Alan Kay — Computer ScientistPlug the sensors above into your GridNodes. These Modular and flexible devices communicate over wireless to measure throughout your business.
GridNodes measure Energy and anything with a pulse (see below) and send it via a long range radio link to the Gridhub that uploads to the web. All AC Nodes track the kWh using a factory set internal accumulating "register." Nodes are supplied complete with 6 x 60A CTs and optionally a versatile temperature sensor. Upgrades to larger CTs are available.
Using the power from an AC power Supply, the GridNode can both measure and run from the mains. This reference point allows it to calculate true Watts RMS, Power Factor, Amps, kWh, kVA and kVAR for each AC input.
NOTE: GridNodes measure single phase voltage. While plenty accurate for energy saving, monitoring and targeting, and understanding use patterns, for NABERS or similar you need to use one of our 3-phase Voltage Kits.
All the CTs are snap on (split core) and the entire system can be installed without interrupting your mains supply. Combined with the radio system this makes GridSpy extremely flexible and easy to change and adapt as you require it.
Like GridNodes, HalfNodes have a long range wireless link, AC inputs, counters and an optional temperature sensor.
HalfNodes measure 3 circuits (or a single 3 phase load). This makes them perfect for measuring just a few circuits or pulses a long way from other components of interest.
While a GridNode measures a single phase voltage, the 3-Phase Voltage Kit measures every phase directly along with the voltage directly. This is required for NABERS. This avoids any assumptions that the voltage of the 3 phases on the mains track together. Like all our devices, this also tracks the kWh using an internal accumulating "register" as required under section 8 of the NABERS specifications.
Using internal transformers, the voltage box can both measure and run from the mains. It calculates true Watts RMS, Power Factor, Amps, kWh, kVA and kVAR for each AC input.
All the CTs are snap on (split core) and the entire system can be installed without interrupting your mains supply. Combined with the radio system this makes GridSpy extremely flexible and easy to change and adapt as you require it.
DC GridNodes measure input voltages from 0-10V and can be wired to measure 0-20mA (or 4-20mA) sensors. With the correct sensors they are extremely flexible and can measure a great number of different things from CO2 levels to battery or solar panel voltages. Paired with one of a staggering range of standard sensors almost anything can be easily measured.
DC GridNodes measure data and transmit it to the GridHub using a long range wireless link.
Like GridNodes they also have 2 pulse inputs and support an external temperature probe. Note that you can also obtain 0-10V temperature sensors.
All AC inputs on the Nodes measure True Watts RMS, rather than just Amps. This is much more accurate than what is available on simple power monitors used in domestic environments. They do this by using the AC power pack as a voltage and sine-wave reference point.
GridSpy sensors provide extremely high frequency data, far superior to that provided by a standard "Time of Use" meter. This allows you to very clearly see how your loads vary over time.
GridNodes are quick and simple to install, all CTs and the optional temperature sensor are supplied with plugs.

Internal is ideal for cramped installations where the GridNode is within 50m of the GridHub. External dipole for all other installations where the cabinet and surroundings are not hostile to radio. The 280mm Aerial is ideal where the aerial must be located outside and perhaps away from the cabinet that contains the GridNode.
Both of the external aerials offer up to 14 dB more gain than the internal aerial, especially where the signal from the GridHub enters the DIN rail side (back) of the GridNode.

The GridHub uses a wireless link to connect to the GridNodes, sensors and other GridSpy devices. It collects the data and uploads it to the Cloud Dash directly via an Ethernet cable or using 3G.
100m - 1000m radio hotspot for GridSpy Devices. Completely obsoletes long cable runs and dusty expensive onsite servers.
Synchronizes automatically with the Cloud using your internet connection, streaming live updates as you watch.
Securely stores up to 6 months of sensor usage data at 1 second resolution. If you lose the internet connection it will hold the data and upload it again when the connection is resumed.

The GridHub can be installed in your office along with your computers and network gear. No messy cabling, no onsite servers. Just plug it in. The GridHub contains 2Gb of storage and uploads the data to your dashboard.
Up to 100 meters away, the GridNode is installed next to your circuit breakers to monitor the power directly. Using the radio link it sends this data to the GridHub.
The Current Transformers are clipped over the wires you want to measure then plugged into the GridNodes. Log in to your Cloud Dash and name the circuits and setup is complete.
